🏃 The Explorers (Keyboard)

Play as agile but fragile adventurers. Run, jump (with highly polished physics and game feel), climb ropes, swim through flooded caves, and trigger ancient mechanisms to clear the path. Your only rule: Never leave the Guardian's halo of light, or madness and shadows will claim you.

✋ The Guardian (Webcam & Augmented Reality)

One player becomes the supreme protective entity. Using real-time hand-tracking technology via your browser's webcam, your real hands appear and interact directly within the game world!

• Light the way: Your hands emit a vital halo of light. Follow your friends to keep them alive.
• Cast Spells: Perform specific finger gestures to alter the world! Summon physical shields to block deadly falling stalactites, or trigger anti-gravity zones to levitate your friends over impossible chasms.

• 🤖 Innovative Webcam Controls: The Guardian physically interacts with the level using their own hands. A unique and mind-blowing hybrid experience.
• 🗺️ 6 Handcrafted Levels: A meticulously designed progression introducing new traps at every turn (bouncing mushrooms, vines, water, bosses) and puzzles that demand perfect synchronization.
• 🎲 8 Mutant Game Modes: Once you’ve mastered the base game, spice up your sessions with 8 modifiers that flip the rules (Lunar Gravity, Burden, Total Darkness, Meteors, and more).
• ⏳ Hours of Gameplay & Laughter: Between chaotic coordination, heroic saves, and absurd deaths (usually because the Guardian scratched their nose at the wrong time), tension and fun are guaranteed.
• 🎨 Art Direction & "Juice": Real-time dynamic shadows, cinematic camera sequences, a full particle system, and distortion shaders for total immersion.

📋 Technical Setup & Instructions

To ensure the best experience in the depths of Karst, please follow these guidelines:

• Browser: Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for optimal MediaPipe and WebSocket performance.
• Webcam Access: The Guardian player must allow camera access in the browser popup.
• Lighting: Play in a well-lit room so the hand-tracking can accurately detect your gestures.

⚠️ Server Hosting & Support

Karst is currently running on a dedicated server with an initial hosting allocation for the upcoming month.
